Did you know that there is a direct bus from Reston Town Center to the West Falls Church Metro station that runs throughout the day? It is the 505 Connector bus and it leaves RTC every 15 minutes starting at 9:05am through 3:25pm Monday through Friday. What a great way to "go to town" for meetings, appointments, shopping, or sightseeing. Give it a try and save gas and money while you are enjoying the ride! The trip to the Metro station is about 25 minutes. You can also pick the 505 at the Whiele Ave Park & Ride about 9 minutes after it leaves Town Center. Check it out!

Over the last several years Fairfax and Loudoun County have made many improvements to their bus systems. As a result the Dulles Corridor express buses constitute a very successful Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. It starts with the feeder buses that provide access to express buses at the Tysons Corner, Reston and Herndon transit centers. In addition there are five major parking facilities with 4,100 spaces that have been built to serve riders. (This includes the Herndon Monroe Park-and-Ride garage which has 1,778 spaces.)The express buses can get there faster have a defintie time advantage. They are able to use the high occupancy vehicle (HOV)lanes on the Dulles Toll Road and limited access Dulles Airport Access Road to reach the West Falls Church Metrorail station, Arlington and DC. Future improvements include a re-built transit center at West Falls Church station and a new transit center with nine bus bays at the Reston Town Center. These new facilities are designed to be user friendly and will have features that make it easier for bus riders to use SmarTrip farecards. These and future improvements only serve to enhance the transit experience for riders in this area.
